Water and Land Symposium
WHAT: Fourth Annual Water and Land Symposium – “Sustainability and Resilience on the Land-Water Continuum”
WHEN: October 5 – 6, 2016
WHERE: Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center, 215 South Depeyster Street, Kent, Ohio; map
This symposium attracts more than 300 attendees from the many universities, federal, state and regional agencies, and private companies from northeastern Ohio. This year we are delighted to have Cynthia Barnett, journalist and author of Mirage, Blue Revolution and Rain: A Natural and Cultural History as our keynote speaker. Cynthia will also be offering a book signing the evening of the keynote, which will also include our first poster session. The second day of the conference will highlight new approaches to a variety of environmental and social issues through distinguished speakers and formal and informal discussions. A plenary session will set the stage for breakout sessions and posters in the afternoon. Breakout sessions will focus on “Restoration and Ecosystem Services,” “Water and Sustainability,” and “Risk and Resilience.” These breakout and poster sessions will provide an opportunity for more specific discussions focused on key underlying issues. Registration is free and open to the public. For a full schedule of events, visit www.kent.edu/water
