EPN-WMAO 2026 Spring Seminar

About this event

Agenda for the Breakfast session of this program is available at the EPN Website here: https://go.osu.edu/epnmar26

What is Your Roadmap to Resiliency?

This workshop follows the breakfast and will focus on how communities can begin developing their own “roadmap” to resiliency by attending this workshop. We will explore what it truly means to be a resilient community, moving beyond preparedness for single events—such as flooding—to a broader, more integrated perspective that includes smart growth principles, design requirements, planning criteria, and long-term water demands. We will also discuss how to develop a funding strategy. Participants will be asked to reflect on their top resilience challenges and consider emerging trends and future conditions that will shape community decision-making, including changing local weather patterns, land use and growth impacts, water availability, evolving water quality requirements, NOAA Atlas 15, and next-generation MS4 permits.

Through discussion and case studies, the workshop will highlight what is on the horizon and emphasize the value of visualizing how these interconnected factors work together to support informed, resilient community planning.

Speakers:

Kari Mackenbach, CFM, BCES, ENS SP
Anil Tangirala, PE, CFM
Chad Boyer, PE, CFM
Mark McCabe, CPESC, CESSWI, CPSWM, ENV-SP
