The Chagrin and Grand River Watersheds
The 2026 conference and tours will explore the Chagrin and Grand River watersheds and surrounding area. This region is characterized by its glaciated terrain of rolling hills and filled valleys featuring kettles, moraines, and bogs. Punderson State Park is home to the largest natural kettle lake in Ohio, Punderson Lake is around 150 acres and reaches depths of 85 feet.
The region's terrain is highly dissected, with steep gorges and rolling hills providing great opportunity for development and specialty agriculture. Being just east of suburban Cleveland, tours will take attendees to a selection of natural areas and conservation sites that highlight the beauty and unique qualities of the region and showcase restoration that has occurred in recent years.
